Actors of the civil society call upon the candidates for the European Parliament to find out about their main priorities.

Can Europe promote peace and democracy while ignoring that the food issue is at stake?

How is it possible not to question an economic system which starves one billion people and destroys animal and vegetable biodiversity?

How is it possible to contemplate the future when the European young find it more and more difficult to fit into today working world?

The planetary food challenge - the priority of the century - is therefore the urgency of the decade. It is essential, especially for the young, to bring an answer which will challenge the destructive system prevailing today, By renewing the European spirit and its foundations, e.g. promoting peace and democracy.

That is the meaning of this public call upon the candidates for the European Parliament election on June 7, launched by Minga and "Nature et Progrès" and supported by many organizations, such as "Frères des Hommes", le réseau des AMAP d’Ile de France, de Rhône Alpes et de Provence, la Confédération Paysanne, Action consommation, Liamm An Douar (Terre de Liens Bretagne), Réseau Ecobatir, ASPAARI, Fruits oubliés, Jardins et Arômes au naturel, Pour l’Ortie, Mouvement d’actions pour le Tibet, L’arbre est dans la graine, Tibet Languedoc, Paysans.fr, Comité National de Liaison des Régies de Quartier (CNLRQ), Association Européenne des Réseaux et des Régies de Quartier (AERDQ), Amis de la Terre France, Terr’Eau...
